SALSA MLPA KIT P249 Telomere-8
[
http://www.geneclinics.org/profiles/hht/details.html]
This P249 Human telomere-8 probemix can be used to confirm and further validate the detection of abnormalities detected by the P036 and P069 / P070 subtelomeric probemixes.
This P249 MLPA probemix contains:
15 probes in the terminal 3.3 Mb of chromosome arm 17p.
8 probes in the terminal 3.5 Mb of chromosome arm 18p.
9 probes in the terminal 3.6 Mb of chromosome arm 19p.
13 probes in the terminal 5.1 Mb of chromosome arm 20p.
The SALSA P036 and P069 / P070 probemixes each contain one MLPA probe for each subtelomeric region. Most probes in these probemixes detect a well-characterised gene close to the telomere. Most probes in P069 are identical to the P070 probes. In contrast to P070, no probes for the acrocentric chromosome arms 13p, 14p, 15p, 21p and 22p are present in P069. Probes in P036 and P069/P070 are different, allowing results obtained with one probemix to be confirmed by the other. The P249 probemix is one of the products that can be used for further characterisation / confirmation of results obtained with P036B/P036D and P069/P070.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
MLPA kits are sold by MRC-Holland for research purposes and to demonstrate the possibilities of the MLPA technique. This kit is not CE/FDA certified for use in diagnostic procedures. Salsa MLPA kits are supplied with all necessary buffers and enzymes. Purchase of the Salsa MLPA test kits includes a limited license to use these products for research purposes.
The use of this MLPA kit requires a thermocycler with heated lid and sequence type electrophoresis equipment. Different fluorescent PCR primers are available. The MLPA technique has been first described in Nucleic Acid Research 30, e57 (2002)
